A Zone of Irresponsible Drawing
I finally got to the Copics that had been sitting in a drawer for a couple of years. It’s a new material, so I need to draw my way into it, get used to it, make it come out beautiful. And who needs it to be beautiful, and why? I don’t mean at work — I mean every casual sketch in a café, which must without fail be “beautiful”, even if no one ever sees it.
Hello again, academic training, where every sketch was graded out of five. But I belong to the academics and to the digital self-taught in equal measure, which is to say I belong to neither. So to hell with it: I get enough responsible drawing at work. I hereby declare this channel a zone of irresponsible drawing — it comes out how it comes out, and if the process is good, that’s what matters.
